Girl Drowns in Fitness Center Pool

We all hope and pray it doesn’t happen at all, let alone to us, but the reality is – bad stuff can happen.  It did last year to a Midlothian, VA fitness center, where a 9-year-old girl fell into a swimming pool and drowned.

According to the guidelines on the fitness center’s website, there is no lifeguard on duty at the gym.  The guidelines also say "Children 13-and- under require adult supervision; adult must be in wet area at all times."

Orangetheory Fitness, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., leads several fitness companies on the recently released Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Inc. magazine ranked companies based on greatest three-year revenue growth from 2012 to 2015.

Orangetheory Fitness is No. 60 on this year’s list with a three-year growth of 4,308 percent and $47.1 million in 2015 revenue. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company moved up from No. 399 in 2014 and No. 415 in 2015. It also is No. 3 among top Miami companies, No. 5 among top Florida companies and No. 9 among top health companies on the Inc. 5000.
